About

The Municipality of Walvis Bay, a Part 1 Local Authority, serves as the governing body of Namibia’s premier port city. With greater autonomy and decision-making powers, the municipality is dedicated to promoting sustainable development, efficient service delivery, and community well-being.

Through its key departments,  including the Office of the Mayor, Office of the Chief Executive Officer, Finance, Roads and Building Control, Community and Economic Development, Water, Waste and Environmental Management, and Human Resources and Corporate Communication Services. the municipality ensures that the needs of residents are met across social, infrastructural, and environmental spheres.

As part of its commitment to transparency and citizen engagement, the Community Feedback Platform was established to serve the residents of Walvis Bay. Developed in partnership with the European Union and the Czervonak Municipality in Poland, this tool enables the public to share feedback, participate in discussions, and report concerns directly, fostering open communication and collaboration between the municipality and the community it serves.
